Step-by-step setup
Install TiViMate
Android TV and Google TV install it from the Play Store. Firestick requires sideloading the APK through Downloader. There is no Apple, Samsung or LG build at all, so use IPTV Smarters on those platforms instead.
Add a playlist
Open TiViMate, choose Add playlist and then Xtream Codes login. Enter the server URL, username and password from your activation message, then press Next.
Name the playlist and load
Name it something obvious, then let the channels and guide download. You will be asked which categories to include; whatever you pick now can be changed later, so do not agonise over it.
Set up the guide
Under Settings, TV guide, set the update interval to every 12 hours. The guide source travels with the Xtream login, so there is no separate EPG URL to hunt down.
Optional: activate Premium
Premium is purchased through the TiViMate Companion app on a phone, not on the television, which catches people out. It runs about $9.99 a year or a one-off lifetime price in the high thirties, with a 7-day trial first. It unlocks recording, catch-up, multi-view and up to five devices per account.
Common errors and fixes
TiViMate says "playlist could not be loaded"
Confirm the server URL carries its port and that the plan has not expired. Then retype the password by hand rather than pasting, because copied text from a chat frequently drags an invisible trailing space with it.
Guide shows "no information"
Force the guide to refresh from Settings, TV guide, Update now, then close and reopen the app so it rereads the data.
